Anne Arundel County Executive Steve Schuh is seeking nominations for the 2016 Dallas G. Pace Humanitarian Award, given each year in memory of the county’s first Human Relations Commission Chairman.

“The Pace Humanitarian Award is one way we honor individuals who create a culture of respect and peace,” said Schuh. “We are fortunate to have so many citizens who work each day to improve human relations in our county, and I encourage anyone who know may know an individual worthy of this award to submit a nominating application.”

The award honors citizens who give back to their communities in the same spirit as Mr. Pace impacted our community. Pace, who passed away in 1974, was a member of the national board of the Red Cross, the Annapolis NAACP and the Anne Arundel County PTA. The award given in his honor seeks to recognize the achievements of any individual who has made significant contributions to promoting human relations in Anne Arundel County.

Any citizen who resides within the county is eligible. Nominations must be received on the official entry form by September 4, 2015. The recipient will be announced during the 35th-annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast in January 2016.

For more information, call 410-222-1234.
