County announces new internship program for college students

intern1-1024x645County Executive Steve Schuh has announced that Anne Arundel County will begin accepting applications from graduate and undergraduate college students for a new fall internship program sponsored by the Office of the County Executive.

“We want students who are passionate about government to get valuable experience,” said Schuh. “Our internship program will allow students to examine all facets of county government, and get a real sense of what is done on a day to day basis by our departments.”

The unpaid, eight week program will involve providing exposure to eight different departments of interest to the intern, including the County Executive’s Office. Participants will intern 10-15 hours per week as their academic schedules allow.

The program is being implemented through the Anne Arundel County Office of Personnel. Interested students can learn more or download at an application at http://www.aacounty.org/Personnel/CE_Internship_Overview.

Students may apply up to September 14, 2015 to be considered for participation.
