Treaty of Paris Center: July 4th special presentation

TreatyOfParisOn Saturday, July 4, the Treaty of Paris Center at the Maryland Inn on Main Street in Annapolis presents “After the Declaration of Independence: Congress on the Run,” featuring a lecture by Mark Croatti at 2:30pm in the Treaty of Paris Restaurant on Congress fleeing Philadelphia for Baltimore, including who was serving in Congress and what decisions were made in Baltimore.

From 11:00am – 3:30pm the Treaty of Paris Center will offer films on the Treaty of Paris Period, including George Washington’s Resignation, the ratification of the Treaty of Paris and the 1786 Annapolis Convention, as well as walking tours that follow in the footsteps of Washington, Jefferson, Monroe, Madison and Hamilton. As always, the featured exhibit is “America’s 14 Forgotten Presidents Before George Washington” under the Articles of Confederation and the Continental Congress. Isn’t it time you re-discovered the Treaty of Paris Period and the role that Annapolis played between 1783 and 1787, connecting the Revolution to the Constitution?

Don’t forget to make plans to attend the annual National Treaty of Paris Festival on Saturday, September 12. For more information on all of our activities, please go to: www.treatyofpariscenter.org
