Tickes on sale for Wellness House’s La Fiesta Americana

La Fiesta Logo 2013Tickets are now available for the annual La Fiesta Americana benefitting Wellness House of Annapolis and its free cancer support programs and services.

The annual event is being hosted by Homestead Gardens on Saturday, August 29, from 6:00-10:00 p.m. at Homestead Garden’s Davidsonville location (743 W. Central Avenue). Tickets for La Fiesta Americana are $100 and can be purchased online at www.annapoliswellnesshouse.org or by calling 410-990-0941.

At La Fiesta Americana, the annual fundraiser for Wellness House of Annapolis, guests can party on the festive plaza created by Homestead Gardens, sample delicious food from local chefs, dance to the hot sounds of award-winning Trio Caliente, and bid on fabulous silent auction items. All proceeds help Wellness House continue to offer free programs and services to those affected by cancer.

This year’s “fiesta fare” will feature small plates donated by Annapolis’ favorite restaurants, including Nando’s Peri Peri, Luna Blu, Annapolis Smokehouse & Tavern, Killarney House, Paladar, and Broadneck Bar and Grill. Each Libations provided by Eastport Liquors and Level.

Joining La Fiesta Americana as this year’s event emcee is WRNRs’ Michael Hughes, a 29-year broadcast industry veteran who is currently the President and Partner of WRNR radio in Annapolis. Mr. Hughes has been a community service advocate for numerous organizations in the Annapolis and Washington, DC areas and beyond.

“This year’s event celebrates the continued growth and expansion of Wellness House of Annapolis, as we continue to support over 250 members of our community each month, with new and continuing services that support our growing community,” states Wellness House of Annapolis executive director, Debra Smith.

Founder and President, Dr. Kelly Sullivan, states, “Thanks to the volunteers, donors, and members of Wellness House of Annapolis, our programs enable us to continue helping those dealing with cancer, cope with living and recovering from this difficult disease which is far too prevalent in our community today.”

Wellness House of Annapolis offers free cancer support services including family programs; support groups; individual counseling services; therapeutic art; educational seminars; healthy living programs; and mind, body, spirit classes. All programs and services are open to anyone living with or affected by cancer.
