Rams Head bringing Melody Gardot to Maryland Hall

Melody GardotInternationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling singer-songwriter Melody Gardot has announced U.S. Fall tour dates in support of her new album titled Currency Of Man. The album topped both the Billboard and iTunes Jazz Charts in the U.S. and became the #1 jazz album in dozens of other countries.

Melody’s fourth studio album Currency Of Man is brimming with funky bass rhythms, sultry vocals, retro-soul brass arrangements, euphoric gospel singers and esoteric orchestrations. Live, these elements pop on stage as Melody draws in her audience as if they’re attending an intimate living room gathering.

The cinematic black and white video for lead single “Preacherman“, which premiered via the Wall Street Journal, is a stirring poetic tribute to the story of Emmett Till, the 14-year-old African American boy whose 1955 murder was a catalyst for the ensuing Civil Rights Movement. Melody also recently released a docu-video for her song “It Gonna Come” which delves into the issue of homelessness.
