Annapolis Police to celebrate National Night Out on August 4th

AnnapolisPoliceNational Night Out (NNO) celebrations are held each year to bring communities together to support crime prevention and education.  NNO helps communities prevent crime by strengthening police-community partnerships and neighborhood spirit.  NNO sends a message to criminals that the community is organized and fighting back against crime.

The Annapolis Police Department is hosting a National Night Out celebration at J. Albert Adams Academy on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be a moonbounce, obstacle course, K-9 demonstration, Honor Guard presentation, identification cards for children, food and refreshments, and much more.

Awards will also be presented to randomly selected children who participated in “What Would You Do?” discussions.  Annapolis Police officers visited many Annapolis summer camps to ask children, “What Would You Do?” to a series of questions such as, You find a wallet with a driver’s license, credit cards, and $100 cash on the street.  What would you do?

Other communities in Annapolis are organizing National Night Out celebrations.  Please contact Patti Norris at 410-268-9000 for more information about National Night Out in Annapolis.  If you can’t attend an event you can still take a stand by keeping your outside house lights on all night and socializing with your neighbors.
