AAACCVB launches new website focusing on BWI hotels

hotels at BWIThe Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau (AAACCVB) wants to make it easier than ever for individuals to discover the BWI region of the county. On July 7, the AAACCVB introduced a new website – TheHotelsAtBWI.com – that highlights the best of what northern Anne Arundel County has to offer visitors and area residents.

AAACCVB President and CEO Connie Del Signore says the new $25,000 site highlights the unique personality of the area. “The BWI area is booming. Home to an ever-growing number of hotels, attractions, restaurants and shopping opportunities, it’s the logical choice for business travelers and vacationers seeking convenient access to Baltimore, DC and surrounding counties. The independent site enables us to market the unique qualities of the region and put interested individuals in direct contact with the information they need.”

For the past two years, the AAACCVB’s marketing efforts have focused largely on driving traffic to its VisitAnnapolis.org site that highlights the entire destination. According to Del Signore, “Under this scenario, the BWI region has had to share the limelight with Annapolis and the Annapolis countryside. The launch of the new site changes that. In FY 2016 that began July 1, we’ll be marketing the TheHotelsAtBWI.com site to targeted audiences, including the corporate market.”

The BWI area has 43 hotels and 7,000 rooms to choose from. As Del Signore sees it, one reason the region is so popular for business meetings and conferences is the fact that there’s so much to do nearby when the workday is through. “Our full-service hotels, Maryland Live, Arundel Mills Mall, dozens of restaurants, and attractions, including the National Electronics Museum, the National Cryptologic Museum, and the Benson-Hammond House, make the BWI region the logical choice for conferences and meetings.”

Ease of access is yet another strength the BWI region has to offer. It’s close proximity to BWI Thurgood-Marshall Airport, I-95, Amtrak’s BWI station, MARC trains and light rail makes it easier for conference and meeting planners to attract large groups to the area.

The new TheHotelsAtBWI.com website will get to shine when an international soccer event, the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals, comes to M&T Stadium in July. AAACCVB ads will direct attendees to the site, encouraging them to consider using the BWI region as their home base for the event.

The AAACCVB is a nonprofit, membership-based destination marketing organization that generates revenues for the local economy by promoting Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay to leisure and business travelers across the country and around the world.
