WRNR and iJET bring Billy Idol to Annapolis for a private performance (PHOTOS)

iJET Integrated Risk Management was the sponsor for the most recent private artist showcase by WRNR Radio 103.1 where Billy Idol took the stage at Rams head On Stage.  iJET, one of the largest employers in the area originally had the event planned for February, but a snowstorm and upcoming Australian tour caused Idol to cancel. It was rescheduled yesterday and not a flurry in sight.

This showcase was opened by WRNR Program Director Bob Waugh who spoke with Idol for about 20 minutes in a no holds barred interview in front of an invite-only crowd of about 200. Idol discussed his drug use, his workout regimen (best line of the night, “I realized that as long as I worked out, I could get fucked up.”), and his new best-selling book Dancing With Myself (Amazon link) which Waugh described as a great summer read. Waugh finished with some questions from the audience that were submitted on WRNR’s Facebook and Twitter pages. The entire performance and interview was recorded and will be available for viewing from WRNR shortly. For a video of the set, check out our Facebook page!

From there, Idol, and long-time guitarist Steve Stevens took to the stage to perform to an appreciative crowd. The set opened with White Wedding, Sweet Sixteen, Eyes Without A Face, To Be A Lover, and finally Rebel Yell.
