Phillips Seafood honored the Maryland Watermen’s Association on the evening of Wednesday, June 3, 2015 with a cocktail reception at Phillips Seafood in Baltimore. It was a wonderful evening as members of the Phillips family, representatives of the Maryland Watermen’s Association and local delegates and councilmen gathered to celebrate another great season of seafood. Steve Phillips presented a check to the MWA for $5,742, a result of Phillips’ fundraising efforts in 2014.
Steve addressed the attendees, “I come from a family of Maryland watermen and have worked closely with local watermen all my life to supply seafood for our family’s Hoopers Island processing plant and our restaurants. Without them, our family business would not have grown to where it is today. We’re proud to stand behind the Maryland Watermen’s Association in their efforts to protect the heritage and future of our commercial watermen.”
This year, Phillips will continue to support the MWA through the sale of their Blue Crab Margarita and 100th Anniversary Cookbook, working toward a fundraising goal of $10,000. The commemorative 100th Anniversary Cookbook showcases original family and award-winning recipes. The cookbook can be purchased online and for every cookbook sold, $5 will be donated to the MWA. For every Blue Crab Margarita sold, $1 will be donated. The Cookbook and Blue Crab Margarita can be found at the Phillips Seafood Baltimore, Atlantic City and Ocean City locations.
