Free diabetes workshop offered at BWMC

DiabetesThe Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities and the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center will be partnering to present free Diabetes workshops next month. The workshops will be held at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center’s Health Services location at 7556 Teague Road, Suite 440, Hanover, MD.

The “Living Well With Diabetes” workshop is appropriate for participants with Pre-Diabetes, or Type 2 Diabetes. This program teaches participants how to manage their blood sugar levels, count carbohydrates and provides information about reading nutrition labels. It also engages the participants in appropriate exercise and assists in managing symptoms associated with both high and low blood sugar levels.

Over the course of 6 weeks, participants come once a week for 2.5 hours. Classes are interactive and educational. Classes will start Tuesday, July 14th from 1:00 p.m to 3:30 p.m. and will meet for 6 consecutive Tuesday afternoons. Workshop space is limited.
