Celebrate Independence Day with a boom in Bowie

July 4 2009 Parage and Fireworks (83)EDITThe Bowie Baysox have announced the Red, White and Boom All-American Independence Day Celebration at Prince George’s Stadium Saturday, July 4, as the team takes on the Erie SeaWolves at 6:35 p.m. The event features the popular Independence Day Barbecue and the finest fireworks display in the region following the game, presented by TD Bank.

Baysox General Manager Brian Shallcross looks forward to this event. “We are very excited to be hosting a home Baysox game on Independence Day that will include an extended fireworks display after the game,” Shallcross said. “We always look forward to providing the local community an enhanced fireworks presentation to help augment our Independence Day celebration.”

Fans can enjoy the game along with a two-hour buffet at the annual Independence Day Picnic.  The menu includes grilled all-beef hamburgers and hot dogs, corn on the cob, barbecue baked beans, crunchy chips, chilled watermelon and soft drinks.  The buffet is served from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $27 for adults, $22 for children ages six to 12, $10 for children ages three to five and $22 for season ticket holders.  The picnic includes a general admission seat ticket for the games and fans can upgrade to box seat tickets for $5 each.  To order tickets for the picnic, fans can contact Patrick Gotimer at (301) 464-4890 by 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 30.

Individual tickets for the Independence Day Celebration range from $7 to $15 when ordered in advance, and are available online at www.baysox.com or by calling (301) 464-4865. A special ticket option is available for fans interested in air-conditioned luxury suite seating on July 4. A limited number of tickets to sit in the Diamond View restaurant, located on the stadium’s luxury suite level, are available for $24 and must be ordered in advance on www.baysoxshop.com.
