On 06/11 Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Demonte Smith, 21, of Annapolis charging him with the shooting that occurred on 06/05 at the Bay Ridge Shell gas station at 2232 Bay Ridge Av. On 06/05 at 5:01pm officers received a call for shots fired and did not locate a victim. At 6:50pm the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Annapolis Police Department and reported a 24 year old female had been shot in Annapolis and then was driven to Calvert County. The victim is still in serious condition. Through investigation Smith was identified as the suspect and this warrant was obtained. Smith is currently incarcerated at the Jennifer Road Detention. He was arrested for other open warrants on 06/08 and is being held without bond.
