This move is a return to Pope’s roots as a restaurant chef. He began his career in Washington, DC, fine dining restaurants such as Red Sage, Restaurant Vidalia, Vingage Wine Bistro, and Ortanique among others before launching Roundz Catering in 2004. Pope has been awarded “Best Chef” accolades by numerous media and industry outlets from 2011 to 2014. Blackwall Hitch (400 Sixth Street, Annapolis) is marking its one year anniversary with a weekend of celebration May 15-17,2015. The restaurant, described as “honoring the heritage of the Chesapeake Bay with a modern interpretation of a classic shore tavern,” has quickly become a leader in the Annapolis dining scene.
