JetBlue Airways has announced that it would add roundtrip flights between Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and Orlando, Florida. The once-daily service is scheduled to start on November 12.
“Our customers will benefit from this added JetBlue service,” said Paul J. Wiedefeld, Chief Executive Officer for BWI Marshall Airport. “The airline is adding more options for our travelers along with its excellent customer service, travel product, and low fares.”
The JetBlue service to Orlando is the second new BWI Marshall route announced by the airline this year. The carrier previously announced that it would add service to Fort Lauderdale, also scheduled to begin on November 12. The new JetBlue service to Orlando will be operated with the airline’s A320 aircraft. JetBlue Airways first launched service at BWI Marshall in September 2009 with flights to Boston Logan International Airport.
Airlines continue to add new domestic and international service at BWI Marshall Airport. Total passenger traffic at BWI Marshall increased 3.1 percent in the first quarter of 2015. International passenger traffic rose 22.2 percent in the first quarter.
