For the love of the library, a fundraiser

Anne Arundel County Public LibraryThe Anne Arundel County Public Library Foundation announced today that its yearly fundraising event, For the Love of the Library, will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 pm on Thursday, April 23 at Reynolds Tavern in Annapolis.

The relaxed gathering of library supporters and staff will be held in one of Anne Arundel County Public Library’s (AACPL) first homes, historic Reynolds Tavern. The public is invited to share tantalizing hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and delectable signature drinks (including the “Miss King,” named for AACPL’s first librarian).

For the Love of the Library 2014 raised over $47,000, which enabled the library to purchase two Play and Learn (PAL) children’s computer stations for each of its 15 branches. This year, the foundation plans to raise more funds to continue the enhancement of AACPL’s early literacy programs and children’s areas.

By supporting For the Love of the Library 2015, residents of Anne Arundel County can help library staff continue to inspire creativity through play and promote skills that prepare children to read.

Tickets are available for purchase online at the AACPL foundation’s website, www.libraryfirst.org, or by phone at 410.222.7371.
