Box of Rain Foundation, the 2014 Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit of the Year, will host their annual Rock and Roast fundraiser on April 11 from 6-10 p.m. at the Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge located at 169 West Street in Annapolis. The party will incorporate Lemongrass and tent the adjacent lot as well. The exponential growth of the sellout event necessitated the change in venue from the Annapolis Maritime Museum in Eastport.
Proceeds benefit the year-round educational program designed to support and encourage Annapolis area youth to gain self-esteem and to develop life skills that lead to positive contributions to the community.
Tickets cost $100. Ticket prices include heavy hor d’oeuvres, oysters, sushi and an open bar.
Live music from the popular Dan Haas Band will be featured.
There will be a raffle for a chance to win two one night hotel stays; one at the Ritz Carlton New York, Central Park and the other at the Renaissance Harborplace Baltimore. The evening will also feature mobile bidding during the silent auction. Auction items include a Shearwater Sport kayak built by Box of Rain participants.
“The Box of Rain Foundation is honored to have long time supporters and mentors Cathie Herrick & Kevin Elion as Honorary Chair’s of the 2015 Rock & Roast. Their support of the organization has been an important part of the success of the Box of Rain year round programs,” stated Kelsa McLaughlin, Executive Director.
Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge will also be hosting the post Rock and Roast party. Music will be provided by Annapolis’ American Rock and Blues band, A Hoodoo Few.
