Spring’s coming with Baysox Family FunFest April 4th

BaysoxThe Bowie Baysox announce today the 16th annual Free Family FunFest at Prince George’s Stadium Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.  The event occurs rain or shine and features free rides and games in Louie’s Kids Park, music and activities on the concourse and displays from local businesses and organizations. 

Single game tickets for the Baysox 2015 season go on sale for the first time at FunFest and the box office is open throughout the day. Season ticket holders can pick up their ticket plans at the event and are invited to an exclusive season ticket holders’ luncheon in the Diamond View Restaurant.

Baysox Marketing Director Brandan Kaiser is excited for this year’s event.  “Each spring we try to provide a fun experience for our fans and their families at FunFest to help kick off the baseball season in style,” Kaiser said.  “This year we have a ton of fun displays and activities the entire family can enjoy at the ballpark during our unofficial season opening event.”

Throughout the event, fans can hang out with the Baysox fun-loving mascots Louie and Rocko. There will also be live music performed on the stadium front pad and several carnival style games on the concourse for kids. Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department will also have fire engines in the parking lot along with cruisers and McGruff the Crime Dog from Bowie Police. Other activities for kids include a Baysox scavenger hunt and a free 15-minute painting activity provided by Wine & Canvas Baltimore. Fans will also be able to meet the Easter Bunny (10:30 – 11:15), Elmo (11:30 – 12:15) and SpongeBob SquarePants (12:30 – 1:15) during the event.

Baysox Baseball – We’ll Knock Your ‘Sox Off. The Baysox open the 2015 season, their 23rd as the class Double-A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, on the road April 9 and play their home opener Thursday, April 16 against the Erie SeaWolves.
