Whether you are a current college student pursuing a degree, a high school student preparing for a summer job or college next fall, a professional seeking more expertise in your field or someone who is curious about a particular topic, you can find plenty of options at Anne Arundel Community College with the eight-week spring term that begins March 23 or in summer sessions beginning May 26.
Even though the college is closed for spring break, registration is available online at http://www.aacc.edu/register/default.cfm.
Current college students can use the eight-week spring term to take a required general education course. High school students at least 16 years old can take first aid and CPR or safe food handling courses to give them an edge in competing for lifeguard or hospitality positions. Or, they can try one of AACC’s introductory courses in a topic they are considering for a career. Courses on specific issues in business, health, human services, teaching, criminal justice and computer technology are available to help employees in those fields advance in their careers.
During the summer terms, you can learn how to set up your own business, get started or improve in another language, get expert help in something fun, such as tennis, composing music or exploring the future. Students just starting out can get up-to-speed on math or English so they will be reading for credit classes in the fall or get ahead by taking a required education course.
And, it’s never too early to prepare for fall classes. Check in the catalog to see what courses are required for your area of study. Registration begins April 15 for all students, with a Registration Blitz for current and returning students April 27-May 2. More details about that week’s activities are available at http://www.aacc.edu/recreg/blitz.cfm.
