Mark Piccirilli, President of FirstPic, Inc., was recognized as the 2014 Small Business Government Contractor of the Year by American Express OPEN as part of OPEN for Government Contracting (OGC) program.
Launched in 2009, OGC is a national initiative that helps small businesses of all kinds and at every level capitalize on the enormous growth opportunity provided through government contracts. FirstPic specializes in project management consulting services and offers a range of products and solutions to schools, non-profit organizations and government agencies at the state and federal level.
The company works with a number of federal agencies, including contracts with multiple offices of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which recently allowed Mark to hire six additional employees and increase hours for existing part-time consultants. Currently, 80% of the company’s revenues come from government contracts.
FirstPic has seen consistent growth since launching in 2001 and now has offices in Gambrills, MD, Washington, D.C., and Denver, CO. The company projects increased revenues of roughly 29% over 2014.
