Fado has full plate for St. Paddy’s Day

FadoFadó Irish Pub will once again be the St. Patrick’s Day hub in Annapolis as it hosts two parties at its One Park Place location. March 14, or St. Practice Day, is the biggest party in town, featuring 6 Nations Rugby and English Premier League soccer, live music and signature Irish dishes (the whole pub menu!). March 17, the Day itself, begins at 6:00 a.m. with Pints and Pancakes and runs through close.  Live music and entertainment will be featured as well as the full menu.   

St Patrick’s Day 2015 is not just a day at Fadó Irish Pub, its a season. Here’s what to expect during Annapolis’ most anticipated St. Patrick’s Day celebration this March:

Stew Off, Saturday, March 7

Parade Day Party Headquarters, Sunday, March 8 – Fadó at One Park Place is once again the command center for Paddy’s Day Parade revellers!  Conveniently located at the start of the parade route, all are welcome to stop in for a pint or a whiskey to warm up before the festivities – or, for those that prefer stay warm, the pub will be open during the parade as well.  As always, Fadó is the place to be for pre and post-parade festivities.

Guinness Perfect Pint Contest – Tuesday, March 10 at 7:00p.m.  Watch the best bartenders compete to pour the most perfect pint. No cover. And for Guinness lovers, it’s lucky pint night – prizes given at random all night long! The grand prize is a trip for two to Las Vegas.

“Green Elephant Party,” Paddy’s Day Pub Quiz Hosted by our Own Kyle Sullivan – Wednesday, March 11, 8:00 PM – Who better than the Irish to mix-up the traditional pub quiz with a rousing “Green Elephant Party?”  Pub Quiz teams are encouraged to bring in one gift for the pile and, throughout the night, are given the opportunity to choose from the pile of gifts or steal from a previously opened gift.  No leprechaun mischief in this game, right?  While you might bring home the ugly sweater, you still have a chance to win prizes, receive giveaways, spin the wheel of chance or take advantage of drink specials, all sponsored by Fadó!

Live Music with Dublin 5 – Friday, March 13 at 9.30p.m.

St. Practice Day, Saturday, March 14 – It’s Parade Day in Annapolis and this party is the official kick off to the big day!  Channel your inner-Irish by starting the day off early with European sports, including 6 Nations Rugby and English Premier League soccer.  Fadó Irish Pub is set to host the largest party in Annapolis with great food and drinks, Irish dancers and live music all day. No cover!

St Baldrick’s Charity Event, Sunday, March 15 at 11:00 a.m – 7:00 p.m. – An annual head-shaving event where the community raises money and awareness to help fight children’s cancer. Fun Fact: “craic” is an Irish term meaning good times,” so we like to always say that this event is “great craic for a great cause”.  We have a $150,000 fundraising goal and over 60 shavees signed up so far. St. Patrick’s Day, Tuesday, March 17 – The first in Annapolis to open their doors on Paddy’s Day, Fadó will start the day with Pancakes at Pints at 6:00 a.m.! Join us for the festivities as WRNR hosts its morning show from the pun and gives away a trip for two to Dublin, Ireland!  Bring the wee ones for breakfast and send them off to school as, after 9:00 a.m., the pub only allows ages 21 and over, along with a $10 cover.  The excitement continues all day and all night as live music and entertainment are provided.  A full menu is available throughout the day, so be sure to get your corned beef and cabbage!

Door cover: $10 cover on March 17th.  21 and over restrictions are noted throughout the special events.
