The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is offering its Wednesday Open Boatshop woodworking program beginning March 25 and continuing monthly on select Wednesdays through August 5. Participants can attend one session or all six, with class size limited and pre-registration needed.

The program invites members of the public to CBMM’s boatyard to work on a small woodworking project of their own, or to bring ideas and seek advice on a future project.

Participants will gain the advice and guidance of an experienced shipwright and woodworker, along with assistance with CBMM’s machinery and tools, plans, measurements and the execution of their small-scale project. Projects can include plans for a small gift, frames, furniture, models, artwork and more.

The Wednesday Open Boatshop program runs from 5:30-8:00 pm. and is $25 per session for CBMM members or $35 per session for non-members. Participants must be 16 or older, unless accompanied by an adult. For dates, visit www.bit.ly/boatyardprograms.
