Over 200 people turned out Sunday afternoon for the 9th Annual SOUPer Bowl Lunch at Heritage Baptist Church, raising $1900 for the Light House Homeless Prevention and Support Center in Annapolis.
“The SOUPer Bowl has become quite a tradition at Heritage,” said Interim Pastor Stephen Price. “We have folks from the community who return every year to support the Light House Shelter and enjoy an afternoon of great food and fellowship. We appreciate the opportunity to help this great community resource.”
Church volunteers ladled soups prepared by local Chef Zachary Pope during the two-hour event. Heritage Baptist Church is an affiliate congregational partner of the shelter, offering support and resources throughout the year.
