Gregg Allman to perform at Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival

allmannChesapeake Bay Events is pleased to announce the addition of Gregg Allman to the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival lineup for 2015. Gregg Allman will be closing the Saturday show.

Gregg Allman is one of the founding members of The Allman Brothers Band along with his brother Duane. Their album Live At The Fillmore East is considered to be one of the best albums of all times.  After Duane’s death in 1971, Gregg began a solo career. His album I’m No Angel went Gold in 1986.   In 1989, he reformed The Allman Brothers Band.  In 2011, Gregg received a Grammy Nomination for the Low Country Blues Album.   In 2014, he was nominated for a Grammy for Statesboro Blues, a collaboration with Taj Mahal. The Allman Brothers have had three Platinum and three Gold Albums.  They ended their 45 year run in October 2014.

Gregg Allman was named one of the top hundred singers ever by Rolling Stone Magazine.  He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.

Mr. Allman joins and already stellar lineup including Grammy award winner Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Charlie Musselwhite, Bobby Rush, Shemekia Copeland, Tommy Castro and the Painkillers, Davy Knowles, Jarekus Singleton, Mingo Fishtrap, Quinn Sullivan, Patty Reese’s Sisterhood of Soul and more. The complete lineup will be announced in the next few weeks.

The festival will take place at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis on May 16th and 17th.  Tickets are on sale now, and VIP tickets are almost sold out.

“Any one of our performers could headline a show and we have them all in one place for a weekend”, stated Don Hooker, promoter.
