Man killed in accident on Route 50 at I-97 in Annapolis

fatal-accidentOn January 7th at approximately 2:05 a.m., units responded to the area of Route 50 west bound between I-97 and the South River Bridge for the report of a motor vehicle accident. Units arrived on location and found a collision involving a pedestrian struck.

Witness accounts to fire department personnel on the scene indicate that a single vehicle accident had occurred. The operator of that vehicle, an adult male estimated to be in his 40s, exited his vehicle and was struck and killed by a second vehicle.

The operator of the first vehicle was determined to be deceased on the scene. The operator of the second vehicle was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center with minor injuries.
