Documentary ‘In Plain Sight’ sex trafficking in America presented in Severna Park

inplainsightOn January 13, 2015, Woods Presbyterian Church in Severna Park will host a screening of the documentary In Plain Sight: Stories of Hope and Freedom which features six national programs fighting sex trafficking across America. The Samaritan Women in Baltimore is one of these programs. The film opens the viewer’s eyes to what’s happening “in plain sight” down the street in our own communities.  Interviews with numerous victims of sex trafficking reveal the inherent coercion and deception visited upon children and women who are trafficked but also dramatically demonstrates what can be done to care for and support survivors. The documentary will be shown at 7pm, preceded at 6:30pm by light refreshments. At approximately 8pm, there will be a panel of local experts who will further explore the issue of sex trafficking in Maryland and Anne Arundel County.  This evening is sponsored by the Peace and Justice Committee and Missions Ministry in support of the National Human Trafficking Awareness Month.

This is a free event and no RSVP is required.
