Baysox taking a different look at Valentine’s Day

Bowie Baysox Anti-Valentines DayThe Bowie Baysox announce today a Valentine’s Day twist for those who would rather curl up on the couch in their pajamas than celebrate the holiday. Rocko, the Baysox fish mascot with a big attitude, is tired of the same old happy, hackneyed, heart-shaped celebration. In addition to offering Louie’s tried and true Valentine’s Day ticket packages, the Baysox and Rocko have decided to help out fans who think Valentine’s Day is an unnecessary reminder of swings and misses in the game of love. This year, the team is offering Rocko’s Love Bites Pack and the mascot is even willing to both break-up with your baseball-loving significant other and soften the blow with this great Valentine’s Day package.

The Rocko’s Love Bites Pack is $55 and perfect for the downtrodden on what can be a quite depressing holiday. This lonely hearts package includes four SINGLE game General Admission Baysox tickets to enjoy by yourself, a Baysox Foam Claw signifying your ripped out heart, a Black Baysox Mini-Bat to fend off any nearby happy couples, six black balloons to denote your singular unromantic status, and a pint of ice cream with a special Baysox bowl to help alleviate your sorrows. Rocko will even purposely not include a “Happy Valentine’s Day” card to ensure moping is kept to a minimum.

For those who aren’t happy in their current relationships, Rocko has an added bonus option. Fans can have the frustrated fish do the dirty work for them and deliver his Love Bites Pack within 25 miles of the stadium to help you part ways with a significant other. Packages will also be available for pick up at the Baysox Offices between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12 or Friday, Feb. 13

Baysox Marketing Director Brandan Kaiser wants to help look out for fans who aren’t enamored with Valentine’s Day.  “For every couple out there who loves Valentine’s Day, we know there is someone out there who is equally as miserable on February 14,” Kaiser said. “This year, Rocko has decided to make his own special package to celebrate the anti-Valentine’s Day with everyone trying to dodge Cupid’s arrow.”

For anyone whose heart hasn’t been broken this Valentine’s Day, the Baysox will also offer several traditional packages for the special someone in your life:

The Louie’s Love Birds Pack is $60, and includes six red roses from Bowie Florist, four box seat tickets for a pair of date nights at the ballpark, a box of Cracker Jacks, a Baysox Replica Hat, a Baysox Knit Beanie Cap and a personalized valentine featuring Louie and Rocko. This package can be picked up at Prince George’s Stadium Thursday, Feb. 12 or Friday, Feb. 13, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Fans can also have Louie deliver it in person within 25 miles of the stadium for an additional $25 on either Thursday, Feb. 12 or Friday, Feb. 13 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
