Anne Arundel County Public Schools blow another snow day decision

snowdayLast year, almost to the day, Acting Superintendent Mamie Perkins promised that the Anne Arundel County Public Schools had learned their lesson about inclement weather and allowing school to remain in session.  It seems that the current administration must have been nodding off during that meeting because they blew it again.

While neighboring districts were quick to call for a 2-hour delay and subsequently a full closure, Anne Arundel County Public Schools remained silent. The last posting on their Facebook page is about the finalists for teacher of the year posted yesterday. AACPS does not allow people to initiate comments on their Facebook page, but that did not stop people from commenting on the most recent post to view their displeasure (read the nearly 300  comments)

The Anne Arundel County police have reported numerous accidents including one in Pasadena that sent a victim to shock trauma this morning. Buses were delayed getting to their stops. Teachers were delayed getting to schools.  Twitter was alive this morning and some followers were even questioning why the Anne Arundel County Public Schools blocked them from Twitter.

Do you think the school’s should have closed or delayed? Please leave a comment!
