AAMC opens second phase of Pasadena health pavilion

aamclogoAnne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) today announced the opening of the second phase of its Pasadena Pavilion, adding orthopedics, sports medicine and physical therapy to the facility located at 8109 Ritchie Highway in Pasadena, Md.

The addition of orthopedics to the pavilion brings general orthopedics, including joint replacement, as well as non-operative pain management services. Pasadena is the newest location in AAMC’s growing network of orthopedic facilities, including Annapolis, Bowie, Millersville, and Odenton. However, Pasadena is the first of AAMC’s regional pavilions to feature two vital fast-access programs – OrthoTODAY and SpineTODAY.

OrthoTODAY provides fast-access appointments with specialists for acute, non-life-threatening orthopedic injuries – often on the same day you call. This program provides care for conditions requiring immediate medical attention, including:

  • Sprains and strains
  • Fractures and dislocations
  • Sports injuries
  • Muscle pain
  • Pediatric injuries
  • Foot and ankle injuries
  • Knee and hip injuries
  • Hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder injuries
  • Cast or wound dressing problems

SpineTODAY provides a way to get relief from new back or neck pain that just popped up and will not seem to go away. SpineTODAY makes treatment a more productive process with fast appointments, a network of back specialists, and a nurse navigator who coordinates patient care. SpineTODAY provides care when new conditions such as back pain, neck pain, disc herniations, pinched nerves and sciatica pain occur.

The Pasadena Pavilion also adds Anne Arundel Medical Group – Physical Therapy. Its physical therapists employ techniques proven to increase range of motion, reduce pain, restore function and prevent further injury for the following conditions:

  • Sports injury
  • Knee, elbow, ankle and other injuries
  • Joint pain, following surgery, replacement, injury, sprain, strain or fracture
  • Arthritis

Additionally, the physical therapy office supports AAMC’s Bariatric Optimization Program by providing physical therapy for patients diagnosed with obesity and metabolic disorders who are preparing to undergo surgical intervention with a bariatric surgeon.

These new services join Pasadena Primary Care, which was the first practice added when the AAMC Pavilion – Pasadena opened last summer. It provides quality patient care for the entire family, including routine check-ups, consultation for illnesses, and lifestyle coaching, and continues to offer free 15-minute introductory sessions with its providers.
