World Artists Experiences to present Ukrainian musicians at Maryland Hall

GerdanAn evening featuring the music and folk dances of Ukraine will be presented at 7 p.m. January 8 at Maryland Hall for the Performing Arts, 901 Chase St., Annapolis. The program is free and suitable for all ages.

Live music, representing the soul of Ukraine, will be played by the Gerdan ensemble and feature traditional folk melodies and contemporary selections. Many selections will be played on acoustic folk art instruments and some will be accompanied by traditional Ukrainian folk dance.

A display of traditional arts and crafts from Ukraine will open at 6 p.m. Some articles will be available for purchase.

The performance is sponsored by World Artists Experiences, a non-profit organization that bridges international understanding through cultural and citizen diplomacy, in partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine. For more information, check the Web at www.worldartists.org.
