Woman attempts to poison husband in Brooklyn Park

poisonOn December 8, 2014 at approximately 8:29 p.m., Northern District Officers responded to the unit block of 9th Avenue in Brooklyn Park for a domestic assault.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 48-year-old male victim, who stated he was having an argument with his wife of 22 years over her drug use. He further stated that after the argument he went to a family member’s house for a short period of time. When he returned, he got ready for bed by preparing to take a pill for medicinal purposes. After he opened the bottle, he observed pills sticking together and a residue on the pills and further smelled an order of “raid” bug spray. The wife was then arrested and transported to Northern District where she was searched by a female officer who discovered a heart pill in her pocket. A Northern District Detective responded and conducted an interview with the wife and she admitted to lacing the pills with “Raid” in order to get her husband sick. The suspect was charged with poisoning, first and second degree assault and reckless endangerment.
