Police investigating string of robberies

Armed knife RobberyAnne Arundel County Police are investigating several recent robberies across the county.

Armed Robbery, Severna Park, Jimmy Johns

On 12/20/14 at 11:00 p.m. units responded to the Jimmy John’s located at 537 Ritchie Hwy for a Robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival officers spoke to an employee who stated she was walking to her vehicle after closing with the store’s bank deposit bag when she was approached by a Black Male suspect armed with a handgun. The employee gave the suspect the store’s bank bag containing an undisclosed amount of US currency. The suspect fled on foot southbound towards the front of the Goodyear and McDonalds out of sight. K9 units responded and tracked the suspect in that direction then lost the track; it’s suspected the suspect entered a vehicle. Numerous units responded to the area and canvassed for the suspect with negative results. Eastern District Detective Unit responded to assist with the investigation. The incident was captured on video surveillance as detectives are following up.

Armed Robbery, Brooklyn Park

On 12/21/14 at approximately 0152 hrs., officers responded to the 7-11 Store located at 4000 Ritchie Hwy, Brooklyn Park for a report of an armed robbery of a citizen.

Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who reported that approximately 40 minutes earlier, he had been walking in the area of Levin Rd. near Edgevale Rd. West when he was approached by a dark colored vehicle occupied by several black males. The victim reported that a black male suspect exited the vehicle, pointed a handgun at him and demanded his money. The victim complied with the suspect’s demands, and after handing the suspect an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, the suspect’s fled the area in their vehicle.

Several officers and a K9 Unit responded to canvass the area with negative results. The victim was not injured during the incident.

Suspect: black male, mid 20’s, approximately 6-00, thin build; wearing a brown hooded sweat shirt and black pants.

Armed Robbery, Baltimore, Denny’s

On 12/21 at approximately 2309 hours a commercial robbery was reported at Denny’s, 6302 Ritchie Hwy. Detectives along with patrol responded within a couple of minutes of the call being dispatched.  Employees reported a light skin mixed race male, who was 5-09 to 6-00 with a slim build, wearing a black ski mask, black & orange jacket, blue jeans, and black gloves, armed with a dark handgun, had robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of currency.  The suspect was last seen running southbound from the front door.

Numerous patrol officers, K-9 and an Air Unit responded to assist locating the subject, but those efforts proved negative for the suspect.
