Military Bowl Parade and tailgate brings the party to Annapolis (PHOTOS)

There was a party leading up to the Military Bowl at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium yesterday.  At 9:00am, the parade kicked off at City Dock led by several Medal of Honor recipients and the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales. Hundreds of people gathered at City Dock in the early morning hours to watch the horses get groomed and harnessed up for their big march to kick off the festivities.  Eye On Annapolis was riding on the “Who’s Your Hero?” trolley. The promotion was sponsored by Katcef Brothers, the local Budweiser distributor. Local residents were asked to name their hero for a chance to get a pair of tickets to the game, participate in the parade and hospitality tents. You ought to take some time to read the stories of their heroes–some are traditional heroes, while others are not. And quite a few will choke you up.

Nearly 5,000 people lined Main Street and Rowe Boulevard as the 50 unit parade made it’s way to the stadium where another party was waiting.

Budweiser sponsored a free tailgate party for everyone. Live music, wonderful food, hospitality tents, raffles, giveaways, and much more as Hokie and Bearcat fans geared up for the big game. Of course, Annapolitans who were fans of neither were there too–after all who can pass up a party like this?
