It was a simple question posed eleven years ago: “Why is it so hard to find a properly fitting bra in the Annapolis area?”
That question, borne of years of frustration at the lack of sizes and styles offered by chain stores, led local businesswoman Patti Platt and partners to open á la mode intimates, a lingerie boutique offering over 120 sizes to fit any women in custom style and comfort.
“We wanted to offer more than just off-the-rack sales,” said Platt, who opened the Annapolis shop in 2003. “We believe the proper bra fit is an art. Our staff members are professionally certified bra fitters who work with each customer to find her unique fit.”
As á la mode intimates prepares for Small Business Saturday on November 29, Platt celebrates the support the community has given her business.
“We’ve come a long way since 2003, but would have never made it this far without the support of our clients. In celebrating Small Business Saturday, we celebrate the people who have made our success possible.”
Beginning Black Friday, November 28, and running through the Small Business Saturday weekend (November 29-30), á la mode intimates will host their annual VIP Warehouse Sale at their shop in the Annapolis Towne Centre. This event is open to anyone signing up for email notices at www.alamodeintimates.com.
A huge selection of merchandise will be available at drastically reduced prices, including a $15 merchandise table and other discounts of up to 80%. Complimentary breakfast items, orange juice and champagne will be available Friday morning from 10 am to 3 pm.
