QuotePie joins Chesapeake Innovation Center as Collaboration Hub member

| November 17, 2014, 01:38 PM | 0 Comments

quotepieThe Chesapeake Innovation Center (CIC), Anne Arundel County’s technology business incubator, today announced that QuotePie, LLC has joined as its newest Collaboration Hub member. QuotePie is a powerful web-based insurance marketplace that allows business owners to connect with property and casualty insurance agents from across the country. Its proprietary platform creates a culture of transparent competition within the insurance industry that can be leveraged to achieve the best insurance coverage at a highly competitive price.

With a background in commercial insurance, founder Marc DeLeonibus created QuotePie to address the inefficiencies in the way insurance was bought and sold. “I wanted to create an easy way to connect businesses with insurance agents who could help them get appropriately covered while keeping costs low,” explains DeLeonibus. “With QuotePie customers can get up to three unbiased quotes and at the same time insurance agents can connect to the businesses that best suit their capabilities. I’m like a matchmaker.”

DeLeonibus plans to further develop his platform and utilize the expertise of the CIC team. “I would like to make more connections and participate in the wide variety of entrepreneurial programs offered at the CIC. This is essential in marketing my business at its early stage,” says DeLeonibus.

Collaboration Hub membership was designed to provide specific business growth services and assistance for start-up companies that are pre-revenue and pre-funding, by using a programmatic approach designed to move a start-up company towards growth in an accelerated manner.  Collaboration Hub members are early-stage companies with a business plan, but that need to develop their technology with demonstrated milestones and/or proof-of-concept and market validation, and to help further polish financials and presentation before approaching investors and customers.

“By developing a web-based marketplace that offers a win-win for both business owners and insurance agents, Marc has tapped into a niche market in the insurance industry,” says Executive Director Laura Willoughby. “We are excited to help him take his business to the next level.”
