The Light House Shelter, a homeless prevention support center, located in Annapolis MD, recently received a $10,000 contribution from Morgan Stanley in honor of Morgan Stanley’s volunteers. During Morgan Stanley’s annual Global Volunteer Month, volunteers at the Annapolis office prepared lunch bags for patrons of the Light House Shelter. Employee Molleda Koy, a Registered Associate with Morgan Stanley in Annapolis, nominated the Light House Shelter for this gift.
“Each year, Morgan Stanley has a Global Volunteer Month, in which we encourage all employees to donate time to worthy causes. The firm measures participation rates across business units. Our complex had a very high participation rate, and as a result we ended up being eligible to nominate charities for an unrestricted grant from the Morgan Stanley Foundation. Since our Annapolis branch had performed a project for the Light House Shelter (donating lunch bags), a number of our employees nominated the Light House Shelter for this grant. The selection was random, and we were, of course, delighted with the result”, explained Marjorie Inden, Senior Registered Associate at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in Annapolis.
