Maasai Storytellers, Musicians and Dancers to Perform in Bowie , Annapolis

Masai photo5Maasai storytellers, musicians, and dancers from Kenya will perform at the Maryland Hall for the Performing Arts in Annapolis, 801 Chase St., at 7 p.m. on Wednesday November 19  and at the Bowie Center for the Creative Arts, 15200 Annapolis Road, at 7 p.m. on Thursday November 13 and .  The performances are free and open to the public on a first come first seated basis.

The artists will perform their traditional music and dances.  Storytellers will tell of their folklore.    Prior to the performances there will be a display of Maasai crafts.

The group has performed in numerous countries.  They recently were featured at the Smithsonian Folk Festival in Washington, DC.

The performances are sponsored by World Artists Experiences, a non-profit organization which bridges international understanding through cultural and citizen diplomacy, in partnership with the Embassy of Kenya and in cooperation with Bowie Center for the Performing Arts and the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts.  For additional information contact the WAE Website at worldartists.org or e-mail [email protected].

This is WAE’s 11th season for sponsoring performances by artists from foreign countries in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
