Kendra Creasy Dean: What the faith of our teenagers is telling the American Church

kendacreasydean351On Sunday evening, November 16, First Presbyterian Church welcomes Pastor and Professor Kenda Creasy Dean to talk about and discuss her insights on the “nones” – and why American teenagers are at once so positive about Christianity and at the same time often apathetic toward genuine religious practice.  Far from faulting teens, Dean challenges churches to take a look at both their messaging AND what type of faith they model for teens.  Whether you are a concerned Christian educator, involved in Youth ministry, or simply looking for a more engaging and vibrant faith, this evening will provide both food for thought and a chance to brainstorm some new ideas.

Kenda Creasy Dean is an ordained United Methodist pastor in the Baltimore-Washington DC

Annual Conference and the Mary D. Synnott Professor of Youth, Church, and Culture at Princeton Theological Seminary. A graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary, she served as pastor in suburban Washington DC and as campus minister at the University of Maryland before coming to Princeton Seminary.
