Slippery, slimey, yuckky educational programs at Annapolis Maritime Museum

American_Eel_page_imageSlippery, slimy, and scale-less, American eels are amazing animals. The Annapolis Maritime Museum announces a new educational program for families: Amazing American eels, who are native to the Chesapeake Bay, scheduled from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday October 25th.  Come to our Back Creek location for a hands-on exploration of eel habitats and even meet live eels! Each participant will make a take home craft as well. Family program activities are geared for children 5-8 years old, however children of all ages are welcome. Registration is required, members attend for free and the nonmember cost is $5.00 per child. Activities occur rain or shine.  No charge for accompanying adults. The Education Center at the Annapolis Maritime Museum provides field trips, summer camps and educational programming for all ages.  The Annapolis Maritime Museum is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to educating students and adults on the area’s rich maritime heritage and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay through programs, exhibits and community events. The Museum partners with community groups, government entities, and other like-minded organizations to deliver high-quality educational initiatives and programs on subjects ranging from history and culture to the environment and good stewardship practices.
