On Monday, October 6, 2014 at approximately 1:37 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Bullseye Sports Pub located at 8779 Veterans Highway, Millersville, for an unknown disturbance.

As officers were responding to the address, police dispatch advised a suspect was seen running through the parking lot with a gun. Moments later, that same suspect was seen carjacking a female on the lot. The suspect was last seen traveling north on Veterans’ Highway with the victim’s vehicle.

A lookout was broadcasted for the vehicle, a blue Volvo, as well as a white SUV that was observed fleeing from the area at the same time. Responding units located an SUV matching the description and initiated a traffic stop.   The two occupants of that vehicle along with the victim of the carjacking were questioned about their involvement in the incident. Investigation would later reveal that both parties were at the Bullseye Sports Pub for the purpose of conducting a prearranged drug transaction.

During the drug transaction, a suspect that the victim was familiar with brandished a handgun and fired several rounds inside the vehicle, not striking anyone. After receiving an undisclosed amount of property from the victims, the suspect then fled from that vehicle and came upon the female that was sitting in her vehicle. The suspect threatened the female with the gun at which time he opened the car door and removed her from the vehicle and fled north on Veterans Highway with the car.

Detectives from the Western District Detective Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation. Through various investigative means, a suspect was identified as being responsible for the shooting and carjacking.   Further investigation revealed the suspect had a residence in Delaware. Detectives worked in conjunction with the Delaware State Police, who executed a search and seizure warrant on the suspect’s residence. During the execution of the warrant, detectives located the suspect, the victim’s vehicle and the handgun that was used. The suspect was arrested without incident and transported by the Delaware State Police for processing.

Additional interviews were conducted with the suspect which resulted in him being positively linked to the crimes.

During the initial traffic stop with the occupants of the white SUV, the driver was found to be driving on a suspended license. A warrant check revealed that he also had an open warrant for Failing to Appear in Court. He was arrested and transported to Western District for processing. A search incident to arrest of the vehicle revealed various drug paraphernalia, heroin, crack cocaine and US Currency in sufficient quantity to indicate drug distribution. The female was subsequently arrested and transported to Western District as well.

As detectives began to investigate the drug distribution further, a hotel room was identified as being rented by the occupants of the vehicle. Detectives then responded to the Extended Stay Hotel, located at 1500 Aero Drive, Linthicum. Upon arrival, they made contact with another female occupant that was in the room. She was later found to be in possession of various drug paraphernalia and she also had 5 open warrants in Anne Arundel County. She was arrested and transported for processing. A search warrant was then applied for and executed on the hotel room. Upon execution of the search warrant, detectives located various drug paraphernalia, 39.94 grams of crack cocaine having a street value of $3,594.00 and 42.74 grams of heroin having a street value of $3,846.00.
