Sexual assault, shots fired in Annapolis

shotsfiredA woman was sexually assaulted and shots were fired with bullets landing in two homes in separate incidents in Annapolis on September 2nd. Suspects in all three incidents are still at large.

Sexual Assault

09/02 at 1:48am:  The adult female victim was in the wooded area next to the bridge when a man she is acquainted with began assaulting her.  The man punched and kicked her repeatedly and then sexually assaulted her.  The victim was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center with serious injuries.  The victim resides in a tent in the area where she was assaulted.  Detectives are working to identify the suspect.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Shomar Johnson at 410-268-9000 ext. 7228 or [email protected].

Shots Fired

09/02 at 2:50am:  Officers responded to several calls from citizens reporting shots fired in the area.  Officers arrived on scene and began walking on foot.  Shell casings were found and a home on Monument St was struck by a bullet.  An upstairs bedroom window was struck and the bullet was found inside the room.  The 18 year old daughter of the resident was in the bedroom at the time the bullet entered, but was not injured.  Officers located a man in the area, but it was not confirmed that he fired the shots.

09/02 at 10:38pm:  Officers responded to calls for shots fired in the area and upon arrival found that a home was struck by a bullet.  An upstairs bedroom window was struck, no one was inside the room at the time.
