stjohnsSt. John’s College tutor Chester Burke will give a lecture titled “Dostoevsky’s ‘The Brothers Karamazov’” at St. John’s College. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium on Friday, September 12 at 8 p.m.

Completed in 1880, ‘The Brothers Karamazov’ is the story of a patricide and of the four sons who each had a motive for murder. A literary work for which Dostoevsky had been preparing his entire life, the novel is considered his greatest achievement.

Burke received his bachelor’s from St. John’s College and his master’s from the University of Michigan. He joined the faculty at St. John’s College in 1984.
