The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce (AAACCC) announced today that Cathy Shaw has joined their team as Director, Marketing and Communications. She is responsible for the AAACCC’s overall communications, marketing, and membership development efforts with a focus on advancing the organization’s strategic objectives and serving member needs.
Shaw comes to AAACCC from Sidus Data where she served as Marketing Director. She brings more than 15 years experience in Marketing, Sales, PR, and Customer Relations. Prior to Sidus, she served as Marketing Consultant to Visa and Development Director for the American Heart Association in both the Maryland and California Affiliates.
In her role at AAACCC, Shaw will bring her extensive communications and marketing expertise to further the organizations mission to serve as an invaluable resource to the business community. “Our primary focus has long since been to serve as a strong advocate for business, to expand business relationships and to promote corporate citizenship in the community,” says AAACCC CEO, Bob Burdon. “The addition of Cathy to our team represents our unwavering commitment to continue meeting these goals while best communicating with our members.”
Shaw is a graduate of Radford University with a degree in Communications, PR and Journalism emphasis. She serves as a Board Member for the Chesapeake Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and is an advocate for numerous charitable causes. She is an avid runner with a passion for healthy living and resides in Annapolis, Maryland with her husband and three children.
