Naptown Pint to hold beer summit at Annapolis Craft Beer and Music Festival

Beer Fest 250x350The Annapolis Craft Beer and Music Festival announces its update of craft breweries, music, arts and crafts exhibitors, and seminar guests.  The festival, in its third year, takes place on Saturday, September 13, 2014,  at The Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland.  The festival hours are Saturday, 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm.

The Annapolis Craft Beer and Music Festival — the only craft beer festival of its size on the Chesapeake Bay with over 40 breweries represented pouring over 120 craft beers — combines  award-winning artisan beer tastings from regional and national breweries along with music of all varieties on The Pilsner Stage.  Attendees have the opportunity to shop for gifts from dozens of arts and crafts exhibitors and to purchase delicious Maryland cuisine from Bayside Bull BBQ Catering.

New to the event this year is  the “Let’s Talk About Beer Summit,” a panel discussion led by Liz Murphy, the craft beer columnist for The Capital newspaper. This new feature promises to be a very exciting and informative opportunity for show visitors to get the very most value out of their attendance at the event.  Liz has promised to assemble the leading experts in the craft beer universe to answer questions and share their knowledge about craft beer.  And, once again, the ever-popular seminars will delve into a variety of interesting subjects about the latest in the craft brewery industry: “Craft Beer 101″ presented by Jim Lutz of Fordham and Dominion Breweries; “Craft Beer and Cheese” with guest sommelier Jason Hulse of Yards Brewing Company; and “Styles and Food Pairing.”

According to Jim Barthold, of City Dock Productions:  “In just a few short years, craft beer has developed a tremendous following among men and women of all ages. There are literally hundreds of craft beers being brewed today, each with its own distinctive characteristics. Tasting and comparing brews has become an activity of the beer enthusiast. Ours is a festival whose time has come:  there is no other event like it in Annapolis or the state as others limit the patron to a few tickets to sample beer.  We provide  unlimited tastings, and with 120 plus beers to taste in six hours, that’s a lot of unique tastes.”  And, Mr. Barthold explains, “The Annapolis Craft Beer and Music Festival combines the rare experience of sampling craft beers while listening to local popular bands … selecting from a menu of food items from our private caterer and shopping among arts and crafts exhibitors.  All here in an exciting waterfront town.”

A general admission ticket includes a souvenir pilsner glass, samples of UNLIMITED craft brews, and music of all genres all day long under the music pavilion tent.  For details and to purchase tickets:  www.theannapoliscraftbeerandmusicfestival.com or call 1-410-263-4012. The festival will benefit The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County which seeks to promote cultural attractions and the arts.  The event sponsors are:  What’s Up Media; Make-A-Wish Foundation; WRNR; Baltimore Beer Week; Landmarks Marketing; Cabot Cheese; Cricket Wireless; Long Fence; and Diamond Resorts.

The Navy-Marine Corps Stadium has ample parking, which makes it an ideal venue.  Directions: take Rt. 50 to Annapolis, take exit 24 (Rowe Blvd) and make the second right onto Taylor Ave. to the entrance at Gate 5.  Parking is $5.00 per car.
