Muddy Creek Artist’s Guild presents Harvest of the Artists

MCAG_03_MacleanThe Muddy Creek Artists Guild (MCAG), is pleased to present Harvest of Artists, its 6th annual fall art show and sale featuring works from over 50 local artists who live and work in Southern Anne Arundel County. The show will run Friday, September 12 through Sunday, September 14 at Greenstreet Gardens, 391 W. Bayfront Road, Lothian, MD. There will be an opening reception Friday, September 12, 5–7pm, featuring food and live entertainment as well as an opportunity to meet the artists.

The MCAG artists will present unique, professional works that explore a variety of subjects, including the local Chesapeake Bay region, in an array of different media: painting, pottery, photography, jewelry, sculpture, and textiles. In addition to the show, MCAG also extends a plein air invitation, open to the public—both children and adults alike—to paint the local scenery found on the grounds of Greenstreet Gardens on Saturday and Sunday from 10am–5pm. There will also be other fun and engaging activities for the whole family to enjoy on Saturday and Sunday, like face painting, art demonstrations, and more.

“This is our artistic version of a county fair with all the colors, textures, and fun one would expect in a three-day art show. We are excited to partner again with Greenstreet to showcase the many talented artists who live in Southern Anne Arundel County,” states Bea Poulin, President.

Harvest of Artists will also provide an outlet for the MCAG to continue its tradition of helping the local community by sponsoring a canned food drive. All donations go to support the SCAN food bank at St. James’ Parish Episcopal Church, in Lothian. The art basket raffle will also return to help raise funds to benefit the Muddy Creek Artists Guild Scholarship Fund. As part of their commitment to support the community and aspiring artists, each year the MCAG gives two $1000 scholarships to South County high school seniors who plan to pursue further education in the arts.

The show is open to the public 10am to 7pm Friday, September 12th, and 10am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday, September 13 and 14. For more information regarding the show, special events and demonstration times, raffle prizes, entertainment, and more, visit the Guild’s website, http://www.muddycreekartistsguild.org  or its Facebook page beginning August 25th.
