Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman is seeking nominations for the 2015 Dallas G. Pace Humanitarian Award, given each year in memory of the county’s first Human Relations Commission Chairman.
“This award honors citizens who give back to their communities in the same spirit as Mr. Pace impacted our county,” said County Executive Neuman. “We are fortunate to have so many members of our community who are dedicated to helping others by improving human relations, making Anne Arundel County and even better place to live, work and raise a family.”
Pace, who passed away in 1974, was a member of the national board of the Red Cross, the Annapolis NAACP and the Anne Arundel County PTA. The award given in his honor seeks to recognize the achievements of any individual who has made significant contributions to promoting human relations in Anne Arundel County.
Any citizen who resides within the county during the calendar year of 2014 is eligible. Nominations must be received on the official entry form by September 12, 2014. The recipient will be announced during the 34th-annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast in January 2015.
