Baysox announce Fan Appreciation Weekend

Baysox_WebAd_300x250_050614The Bowie Baysox announce today that the team will be hosting Fan Appreciation Weekend at Prince George’s Stadium. The weekend will consist of Kids Appreciation Night on Saturday, Aug. 30 when the Baysox take on the Altoona Curve at 6:35 p.m.  Fan Appreciation Day will follow on Sunday, Aug. 31 as the Baysox take on the Rock Cats at 2:05 p.m. Both events will include giveaways with fireworks on Saturday and a chance to Meet the Team before the game Sunday.

Baysox Marketing Director Brandan Kaiser looks forward to this weekend.  “This weekend is a great way to show appreciation to our fans who have come out to support us during the long season,” Kaiser said. “We have some great giveaways planned for both nights and the first ever Helicopter Candy Drop on Sunday should be tons of fun for all the kids at the game.”

On Saturday night the first 500 kids in attendance, ages 3-12, will receive a free Youth Baysox Mini Bat. The festivities then continue on Sunday afternoon as the first 500 fans, ages 13 and older, will be given a Baysox Knit Beanie Cap.

Saturday is also the Kids Halloween Party. Children are encouraged to come dressed up in their favorite Halloween costume for trick-or-treating before the game and other Halloween fun.

For Fan Appreciation Day, gates will open at 12:30 p.m. Baysox players and coaches will then be available to sign autographs and pose for photos between 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.  Also, fans are invited to bring their gloves to play catch on the field before the game. Baysox Pitching Coach Blaine Beatty and that day’s starting pitcher and catcher are not available for autographs.

Sunday’s game will also feature the Baysox Helicopter Candy Drop after the game. All kids ages 12 and under in attendance will be invited down onto the field after the game to participate in a candy drop in the outfield. A helicopter will drop 150 pounds of candy onto the field for kids to collect.
