golfProvidence Center, a non-profit organization that serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Anne Arundel County, announced today that its 22nd Annual Moran Golf Classic, presented by Severna Park-based Moran Insurance and Chiron Technology Services, Inc., a Columbia-based cyber security and technology company, raised $60,000 for the organization’s programs and services.  The Classic was held on June 2nd at Queenstown Harbor.  The event featured two golf courses, nearly 200 golfers, a silent auction featuring round-trip tickets from Southwest Airlines and many area businesses, raffle, and iPad giveaway.  This is the most successful fundraising event for the organization of the year.

Providence Center CEO Chuck Coble released the following statement:

“We had another incredible Classic this year,” Coble said.  “It wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our committee members, our sponsors, silent auction donors, and everyone that came out to play and support the extraordinary men and women of Providence Center.”

Coble continued, “Providence Center was the first organization in Anne Arundel County serving those with developmental and intellectual disabilities.  We are very proud that for 53 years we have remained an innovative, community-based non-profit that strives to assist those we serve gain the greatest independence in their lives possible and achieve the rich, full life we all deserve.  The support we receive from so many individuals and companies helps us advance these beautiful lives.  We are grateful and commit every day to do the best work we can on behalf of the men and women who only want the same opportunities that everyone else has.  Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s Classic, particularly Moran Insurance and Chiron Technology Services, Inc., and those that continue to come back year after year.”
