Man charged for sexual abuse of disabled adult at Opportunity Builders

On Monday, July 14, 2014, at approximately 12:55 p.m., officers from Western District responded to Opportunity Builders located at 8855 Veterans Highway in Millersville for a report of vulnerable adult abuse.  A 21-year-old male victim diagnosed with autism disclosed that he was sexually abused by a staff member sometime between May 15, 2014 and June 15, 2014. Detectives from the Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse Unit responded and interviewed the victim regarding the allegations. The victim informed detectives that a staff member sexually touched him while was using a bathroom at Opportunity Builders.

During the course of the investigation, the staff member in question arrived at work. Through interviews, it was learned that he sexually touched the victim. The suspect, who is a supervisor and work coach at the facility, was arrested and transported to Western District Police Station.  The staff member, identified as Gregory Chambers, was charged with Vulnerable Adult Abuse, a Third Degree Sex Offense, a Fourth Degree Sex Offense and Second Degree Assault.
