Leadership Anne Arundel shuffles positions

LAAlogoLeadership Anne Arundel has adopted a new business model that consolidates the positions of executive director and development and public relations director, while bringing back a well-respected program facilitator who is familiar to the organization.

LAA’s board of directors approved the hiring of Eric Edstrom, the organization’s current executive director, as president of LAA.  In his new role he will be responsible for recruiting participants in LAA’s leadership training programs, fundraising and expanding the organization’s reach into the community.

Griff Hall, former executive director LAA, will return to LAA to facilitate the Flagship and Executive Leadership Series programs.  Hall is an adjunct professor at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and has been active in national leadership organizations.

Kathleen Nieberding Temprine, current director of development and public relations, opted to leave LAA to resume her fundraising and consulting business on July 31 after six years of service.

“LAA has been blessed to have two dedicated individuals working as partners to grow LAA’s success,” said Tom Marquardt, interim board chairman. “Eric has improved LAA’s financial standing, improved programming and recruited more participants.  Kathy has grown LAA’s sponsorships and donations, refined our professional image, and created impressive social events to spread LAA’s word in the community.”

“It has been a wonderful experience at LAA to work with diverse leaders and financial sponsors from all over the county and to create opportunities for them to connect and collaborate,” said Nieberding Temprine.

LAA, a nonprofit leadership training and networking institute in Anne Arundel County with over 1,300 graduates since 1993, is currently recruiting for its next Flagship class.  Interested individuals can apply through the LAA website at www.leadershipaa.org.
