The Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks is proud to announce a beneficial partnership with fellow county agencies and community members to build a vegetable garden at Hilltop Elementary School in Glen Burnie. The garden provides a wonderful opportunity for students and faculty members to integrate nutrition through gardening in elementary classrooms and during our before-and-after-school child care program.
The project was funded by a grant from the Anne Arundel County Department of Health and implemented with hard work and dedication by the following partners:
- Hilltop Elementary School
- Louise DeJesu, Principal
- Megan Edwards, Vice Principal
- Melissa Connelly, Teacher
- Judy Center located at Hilltop Elementary School
- Amy Beal, Director
- Anne Arundel County Health Department

- AACPS Food & Nutrition Services
- Stacey Maczko, Food & Nutrition Specialist
- Evergreen Gene’s, Inc.
